2025 Horatio Alger Association Career & Technical Education Scholarship Application 

Scholarships are awarded to students who have overcome great obstacles in their lives and wish to pursue a career or technical degree/certificate/diploma at a not-for-profit trade or vocational school or community college in the United States. To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria: 

  • Have completed high school by July 1
  • Plan to attend a not-for-profit community college or trade/vocational school
  • Enroll in an associate's degree, certificate, or diploma program by September that will lead to employment
  • May not be enrolled in a pre-requisite course 
  • Demonstrate financial need (applicants must show a household income of $65,000 or less) 
  • Be under the age of 35 
  • Be a US citizen

MyMichigan Medical Center Sault

MyMichigan is offering multiple $500 scholarships to senior high school students who are pursuing a degree in nursing or a health professional field. In order to be considered, students need to complete the following:

  • 150+ word essay on why you have chosen the profession of nursing/healthcare
  • A letter of acceptance or enrollment form from an accredited college or university
  • A letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, or supervisor
  • Focus should be on why you are choosing your career and what your community means to you

Completed essays and attachments need to be sent to Nicole.Oliver@MyMichigan.org no later than March 14, 2025.

Cloverland Cares

Cloverland Electric is offering the Cloverland Cares scholarship to students in Cloverland's Eastern Upper Peninsula service territory. To view the application, please see the Cloverland Scholarship page on their website.

Michigan American Legion Skilled Trades Scholarship

The American Legion Skilled Trades Scholarship aims to provide annual scholarships to deserving individuals between 17 and 21 who are pursuing a construction/building, automotive, advanced manufacturing, or energy career either in a post-high school trades training/apprenticeship or earning a two-year college degree in any of the above areas where the student would be certified at the state or federal level. Please check out the application page for more information. The deadline to apply is April 4, 2025.

Chipewa Luce Mackinac Conservation District Young Leaders Scholarship

This scholarship is due on April 15, 2025, to the Chippewa County Community Foundation. It is open to EUP high school seniors and post high school graduates pursuing a degree or enrolled in an education program for natural resources or agriculture. Students must have a 2.8 GPA or higher. To apply, please check out the Chippewa County Community Foundation Scholarships page.
